PIMS White soccer goes undefeated

    The Presque Isle Middle School boys soccer team recently finished their season with a 12-0-1 record. The Wildcats earned the Aroostook League Central Division title with an 8-0-1 record among their competitors (Houlton, Caribou and Presque Isle Middle School blue and white). The White team dominated the season with 73 goals, and only allowing 18 shots past their defense.

   “The team worked really well together and seemed to improve as the season went along,” said coach Jeff Hudson. “Their passing, ball movement and shooting became crisper and defense improved greatly.” The Wildcat defense only allowed four goals in their last six games.
    The team showed good sportsmanship on and off the field despite the competitive spirit that led them to the middle school title. “Their talent, teamwork, hustle and attitude are what led this team to an undefeated season,” said Hudson.
    A core of eighth-graders led the team including: Cole Richards, Connor Shaw, Wilder York, Riley Norton, Andrew Kofstad, Ben Sipe, Cody Merrill, Jesse Rochester, Ross Harris and Matt Sullivan. The seventh-grade names on the roster were Griffin Lovely, Khyver Lowe, Corey Belanger, Josh Morrow and Jon Rochester.
    Contributing sixth-graders coming up this year were Josh Gordon and Ansunama Morrow. Isaac Estey and Drew Barrett managed the team.
