Municipal officials recognized

RISING STAR — Jon Frederick, town manager of Mapleton, Chapman and Castle Hill, displays his Rising Star Award, which he won at the Maine Town, City and County Management Association at the organization’s annual meeting last month.
Bev Labbe, city clerk for Presque Isle, was presented with the Rookie of the Year Award from the Maine Town & City Clerks’ Association at the annual meeting on September 3.
This award is given to a town/city clerk who has been in the profession for five years or less and is designed to recognize a new clerk who has done an outstanding job in a community and promotes professionalism. Labbe was nominated by Eagle Lake’s Town Manager, Sandra Fournier, who had previously worked with her at the city of Presque Isle.
Labbe was selected due to her attention to detail, dissemination of information, and going above and beyond to assist other departments and citizens.
Jon Frederick, town manager of Mapleton, Chapman and Castle Hill, was bestowed with the Rising Star Award from the Maine Town, City and County Management Association; presented at the annual meeting in August.
The award is given to managers with five years or less of service. Frederick was nominated by Presque Isle City Manager Martin Puckett.
Frederick was selected due to his strong leadership skills, instilling ethical values to others in the profession and doing a remarkable job at the helm of the three communities.
