UMPI to host spring management courses
The University of Maine at Presque Isle will be offering two courses this spring beginning Tuesday, May 19, and Wednesday, May 20, respectively, as part of its American Management Association’s certificate programs. The course registration deadline is May 18.
The course Fundamentals of Human Resources Management will be held on Mondays from May 19 to June 23, from 6 to 8:30 p.m., in the Campus Center, Alumni Room. Knock Your Socks Off Customer Service is scheduled for Wednesdays from May 20 through June 24, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., in the Campus Center, Alumni Room.
To earn an AMA certificate, each student is required to complete six courses for management or five for human resources management. Courses may be taken in any order and there is no time limit for completion of the program. Courses also can be offered on-site.
Each course meets once a week for six weeks and one or more courses may be taken per term. The cost is $250 per course, and includes instruction, text and materials. For more information or to register, contact Carolyn Dorsey at 768-9584 or carolyn.dorsey@umpi.edu.
Diaper drive
A diaper drive will be held in Presque Isle to benefit babies in need in the local community.
The collection will be taken Saturday, May 16, at 1 p.m. at the Ascend Church, 53 Wilson St.
