The hottest Aroostook County baseball team playing in the Class D ranks is Fort Fairfield. The Tigers began the season with consecutive losses, but since then have reeled off four wins in a row.

Carter Bruce and Jared Harvey both turned in pitching gems for coach John Ala’s team, beating Wisdom and Ashland, respectively. The Hornets had entered Friday’s game without a loss before being handcuffed by the freshman hurler.
The Hornets are now 3-2, while Washburn stands at 3-3. Limestone-MSSM had won its first two games before dropping two in a row.
In Class B, both Caribou and Presque Isle are at 4-4 after splitting doubleheaders played on their home fields Saturday. The two teams were supposed to meet for the first time this season Tuesday in Caribou, but the game was washed out and instead will be made up May 26 at 4 p.m.
