PRESQUE ISLE – James W. Nadeau, 63, passed away at a Presque Isle healthcare facility Sunday, March 22, 2015, after a long battle with cancer. He was born June 15, 1951, to Wilford and Edna (Hatch) Nadeau.
Jim worked as a Park Ranger at the Aroostook State Park for many years. He was a graduate of Northern Maine Community College and the University of Maine at Presque Isle. He also served in the United States Air Force and the Vietnam War. He belonged to many organizations including the Presque Isle Masonic Lodge, Presque Isle Shriners and Disabled American Veterans.
Mr. Nadeau is survived by his wife, Yvonne (Sock) Nadeau, of Presque Isle; two sons, David Nadeau and his wife, Stacey, of Caribou, and Jackson Nadeau and his wife, Kate, of Auburn; a daughter, Yvonne Kibbin and grandson, Eric Kibbin, of Georgia; a brother, Dean Nadeau and wife, Trudy, of Yakima, Washington; three stepdaughters, Priscilla Jewell of Bangor, Gail Jewell and companion, John Martinelli, of Mapleton, and Shirley Jewell and companion, Joe Bourgoine, of Washburn; two stepsons, Nelson Jewell and his wife, Shirley, of Levant, and Greg Jewell of London-derry, New Hampshire; a niece, Jennifer King of Arkansas; a stepson-in-law, Dana Dickinson of Presque Isle; and several stepgrandchildren who affectionately call him “Grampy Jim.” Also his dog and loyal companion, Thunder.
He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Gerald Nadeau; a stepdaughter, Mary Dickinson; a stepgrandson, Benjamin Jewell; and a stepgranddaughter, Michaela Tinkham.
Friends called Friday, March 27, 2015, from 10-11 a.m. at Faye Funeral Home, 5 Erskine St., Presque Isle. A Memorial Service followed at 11 a.m. from the chapel of the funeral home. Interment took place at the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou. Arrangements by Faye Funeral Home.
