Easton’s Mazerolle named state FFA Member of the Month

    Congratulations to Carter Mazerolle, a junior at Easton High School, for being named FFA Member of the Month in January.

If you ask the FFA advisor he will tell you that Carter is the “go-to person” if you need to get something done. A great example is the float his chapter made for the light parade. As chapter president, he has been reliable for his entire group. His dedication to the FFA can been seen in everything he does!  Congratulations to Carter Mazerolle, state FFA Member of the Month.

Happy Days Club

    The Easton Senior Happy Days Club met on Jan. 22 with 17 members and one guest attending. The nominating committee selected for the 2015 officers include: Annette Copeland, Marie Hewitt and Betty Brown. Their next meeting will be a potluck dinner at the Manor on Thursday, Feb. 12, at 11:30 a.m. New officers will be installed.
Happy birthday this month to Jean Ann Ames.
All Easton seniors are invited to attend and bring a friend for a delicious meal and a fun afternoon.

Hot Shot winners

    Congratulations to the Easton Hot Shot winners. Taking first place in their division were: Cheyanne Day, Eva Callioras, Isabelle Morin, Evan Carver, Paul Bonner and Jordan Doody. The second-place finishers were: Austyn Cowley, Lydia Ferris, Delia Bonner, Rylee Chasse, Camden Michaud and Collin Sotomayor. Grace Flewelling, Kaylee Boyce, Paige Flewelling, Devin Daniels, Austin Carver and Matt Quimby took third place.  The above winners qualify for regional competition on Wednesday, Feb. 18, starting at 10 a,n, at Caribou Wellness & Rec Center. Congratulations and good luck!

Church asks for assistance

    The New Song Church has installed emergency strobe lights in the even their furnace(s) are not operating. If you see the lights flashing, please call the Lamb’s at 551-6223 or 551-6224. They appreciated your assistance.

Valentine’s Day childcare

    The Easton Wesleyan Church will be doing a “babysitting service” on Saturday, Feb. 14, from 5:15-9 p.m. They will have movies, games, snacks and crafts for the kids. Donations will be accepted. For more information call Melissa Corbin at 227-4093.

Fair registrants needed

    There will be a craft, vendor and trash n’ treasure sale at Easton Elementary School on Saturday, April 11, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Anyone interested in having a spot, call Melissa at 227-4093 or email crazycountygirl96@gmail.com.

Pageant parent meeting

    Please come sign up on Wednesday, Feb. 11, to compete for the title of Little Miss (first through third grade), Pre-Teen Miss(4th and 5th grade), Jr. Miss (sixth through eighth grade), Teen Miss (9th and 10th grade) or Miss Easton (open to grades 11 and 12, up to age 20). You must be an Easton resident to participate. For additional information, call 551-7312 or 768-0798.

Kiwanis meetings

    The Kiwanis Club of Easton meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month from 6-7 p.m. at the Odd Fellows Hall; everyone is welcome to attend. Dinner provided for a small fee. Please plan to join them.

Sesquicentennial Birthday Party

    Easton will celebrate its 150th birthday party on Tuesday, Feb. 24. The Town Office will be open all day for an open house, with cake and punch served. The Sesquicentennial Committee members will also be serving cake at the elementary and high schools during the school day.
On Friday, Feb. 27, the Sesquicentennial and Recreation committees will be hosting a birthday party. There will be a pizza party, cake and ice cream, bounce house, face-painting, photo booth and fireworks! Donations will be accepted. Activities will start at 5:30 p.m. at Easton Elementary School.

    Wednesday, Feb. 11 — Junior Activities from 9:30-11 a.m. at the Hall. Valentine’s Day craft after school at the Hall until 4:15 p.m. Fifth and sixth practice from 5-6:15 p.m. at elementary school.
Thursday, Feb. 12 — Happy Days at 11:30 a.m. in the recreation room at the Manor. Fifth and sixth boys’ basketball vs. Fort Fairfield at home at 3:30 p.m. Cheerleading at boys’ game at 3:30 p.m.
Friday, Feb. 13 — Junior Activities from 9:30-11 a.m. at the Hall. St. Valentine’s Day Party starting at 11:15 a.m. Cost is $3. Cheerleading practice from 3-4 p.m. at the Hall.
Saturday, Feb. 14 — Little Bears grades 1 and 2 clinic with Varsity Club from 9-10 a.m. The fee is $5. Little Bears grades 3 and 4 clinic with Varsity Club from 10-11 a.m. The fee is $5. Fifth and sixth grade practice from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Monday, Feb. 16 — Holiday; town office will be closed. Weight Watchers at 5:30 p.m. in the elementary school gym.
Tuesday, Feb. 17 — Inflatables Day at Caribou Rec. Please be sure your child is wearing socks and dressed appropriately. The cost is $3 and we’ll stop for lunch at McDonald’s, please send appropriate money. Departing at 9:20 a.m. and return by 1:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Feb. 18 — Hot Shots competition in Caribou for those who qualified. Competition starts at 10 a.m. at Caribou Wellness Center. Good luck to our representatives!
