Please watch how you recycle

To the editor:

When I went to recycle my corrugated cardboard behind Presque Isle’s City Hall, the first thing I saw was a bright blue styrofoam egg carton among the boxes.  I pulled it out, and angled my cardboard into the Dumpster.

We are sufficiently isolated as a community that our recycling options are limited.  If we keep polluting our waste stream by introducing items that are not actually recycled (I’m looking at you, cereal cartons and soda can cases), we risk losing the opportunity altogether.

Please review what is acceptable in the igloos and cardboard Dumpster, and abide by those standards.
