PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Tina Dougherty, exalted ruler of the Presque Isle Elks, Lodge #1954,
announced that the Presque Isle Elks will be hosting their 18th annual July 4 Community Celebration from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Presque Isle Riverside Park north of the City’s splash pad, which will be in operation at the south end of Riverside Park on Friday.
Again this year the Elks will be grilling hot dogs, which they will serve free of charge to the public beginning at 11 a.m. on the 4th Also being served will be a variety of chips, popcorn, drinks, watermelon and shaved ice, all free of charge.
The “Soggy Bottom Boysz” comprised of James “Sheldon” Wright, Leland Clark, Aegis Clark, Joe Romeo and other friends will provide live music.
The annual Elks’ Car Show will be held on Riverside Drive, which will be closed to traffic.
Car enthusiasts throughout Aroostook County and western New Brunswick look forward to this annual auto and truck show. Registration for the car show is free and begins at 10 a.m.
Trophies will be awarded for the top vehicle in each class. A People’s Choice award and trophy for the Best in the Show will also be awarded.
Young attendees will be eligible to participate in games and contests to win a huge variety of prizes.
