BREWER, Maine — The Northern Maine Moose boys lacrosse team fell at Brewer High School 14-5 on May 15.
“Brewer played well,” said Moose head coach Adam Simoes. “Their team is where we will be in a couple of years with growth from our club program. Brewer was able to carry 30 athletes this year. Two starters out with injuries going into the game didn’t help today. I was pleased with Jacob Watson who filled big shoes on defense. “
Isaiah Ervin led the Moose with four goals and two assists. “Their goalie was good today, I have to give him credit,” he said.
Eli Brown posted two goals for a continued scoring streak
Colton Simoes dominated the faceoff position with 86 percent wins and two assists.
“When you have a guy who is securing the ball 86 percent of the time we need to score. Colton worked hard all game supported by his faceoff squad. We need to capitalize on such talent,” head coach Simoes added.
Goalie Carter Smith made a great outlet pass to Ervin to check off an assist in the books, something you don’t see often.
