Saint John Valley Weather April 16-22

3-Day Outlook: Wed. Apr. 16 – Fri. Apr. 18

Surface low pressure which brought precipitation to the Valley last night will lift northeast away from the region today while an upper-level trough tracks east across the SJV. High pressure centered over the Great Lakes will drift eastward later today and Thursday bringing decreased clouds with gusty west/northwest winds across the area later tonight into Thursday.

Mostly clear skies are expected Thursday night as high pressure becomes centered over the region. Mostly clear skies Friday morning become increasingly cloudy as the day progresses with rain overspreading the SJV ahead of the next low pressure system that looks to affect the region this weekend.


Daily Summary

Today: Cloudy. Patchy fog this morning. Scattered rain and snow showers this morning, then rain and snow this afternoon. Snow accumulation up to 1 inch. Cooler with highs in the upper 30s. West winds 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph. Chance of precipitation 90 percent.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy. Snow and rain in the evening, then scattered snow showers after midnight. Little or no snow accumulation. Lows in the upper 20s. West winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of precipitation 80 percent.

Thursday: Partly sunny. Highs in the lower 40s. West winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

Thursday Night: Clear. Lows in the mid-20s. West winds 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.

Friday: Sunny in the morning, then becoming partly sunny. Highs in the lower 50s. West winds 5 to 10 mph.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy. A chance of rain in the evening, then rain likely after midnight. Lows in the upper 30s. Chance of rain 70 percent.


4-7 Day Outlook: Sat. Apr. 19 – Tue. Apr. 22

A warm front lifts across the Valley Saturday with plenty of clouds and rain likely. Rain tapers to showers Saturday night with isolated rain/snow showers Easter Sunday. Precipitation tapers off Sunday afternoon/evening with high pressure building in from the west. Partly cloudy skies Sunday night and partly cloudy skies Monday as high pressure moves across the region. Partly cloudy skies Monday night give way to partly sunny skies Tuesday with rain/snow showers as an occluding low pressure system and fronts moves across the region SJV.
