CARIBOU, Maine — Maine School of Science and Mathematics soccer captains, along with Director of Residential Life Cyndi Trapnell and Executive Director Rob Constantine, presented a check to Pink Aroostook. In honor of Breast Cancer Month in October, MSSM soccer teams decided to make an impact in the community by raising money for Pink Aroostook, an organization that helps breast cancer patients in Aroostook County. They raised a whopping $1,130 through the sale of “Pink Out” T-shirts and a 50-50 raffle at the team’s senior night game on October 18.
The players sold the T-shirts to family, friends, faculty and staff members for a month prior to the game. Players decked out their uniforms with pink socks and a pink ball. Fans showed their support by wearing these T-shirts and making the bleachers Pink Out!

When asked why they did it, student Quinn Daly said, “It just felt great to raise money for something so important that has touched many of us with family and friends. While our donation is not huge, we know it brings us one step closer to hope, healing, and a future without breast cancer. Together, we make a difference for Pink Out Aroostook!”
They are looking forward to working with Pink Aroostook in the future to further help our community.
