Polling locations and times for the Nov. 4 election have been announced for various sites throughout the region, with several communities voting on issues in addition to state seats and referendum questions. The following information lists communities alphabetically, including time and location where voting will take place, any local positions up for election and ballot questions impacting the respective municipalities, as well as a contact phone number for more information:
• Ashland voting will take place in the council room at the Town Office from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Three candidates are running for the SAD 32 School Board: Michelle Eastman, Janet Jandreau and James Laveway. 435-2311;
• Blaine Town Office will be open for voting 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., 425-2611;
• Bridgewater Town Office will serve as the voting location 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., 429-9856;
• Castle Hill Grange Hall will be open for voting 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., 764-3754;
• Chapman voters will go to the Chapman Ridge Runners’ Snowmobile Club 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., 764-3754;
• Easton Town Office will be open for voting 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., 488-6652;
• Fort Fairfield residents will cast their votes at the Community Center from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Susan Gould-Leighton and Amanda J. McLaughlin are running for seats on the SAD 20 School Board, while John F. Herold is running unopposed for a seat on the town council, 472-3800;
• Mapleton voting will take place at the Mapleton Fire Department from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., 764-3754;
• Mars Hill votes will be cast at the Mars Hill Fire Department from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., 425-3731. Two local questions appear on this year’s ballot. The first asks “Shall this municipality authorize the state to issue licenses for the sale of liquor to be consumed on the premises of licensed establishments on Sundays — yes or no?” The second questions asks voters “Shall this municipality authorize the state to issue licenses for the sale of malt liquor and wine to be consumed off the premises of licensed establishments on Sundays — yes or no?”
• Masardis voters will meet at the Municipal Building to voter 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., 435-2841. Sheila Lyons is seeking a seat on the SAD 32 School Board.
• Oxbow voters will vote at the Community Center from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., 435-6171;
• Perham Town Office will serve as the site for voting from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., 455-5887;
• Portage Lake and Nashville Plantation votes will be cast at the Municipal Building, 20 School St., 435-4361;
• Presque Isle voters will cast their votes at the William V. Haskell Community Center, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., 760-2720. In addition to voting to fill several vacancies on the SAD 1 School Board, four candidates are vying for two seats — one of which is currently held by Bruce Sargent, who is not seeking another term — on the City Council: Emily Smith, who’s served as council chair for several years, is running for re-election; also running are Don Gardner, Dwayne Singletary and Leigh Smith;
• Washburn’s Civic Center will be the site of voting from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., 455-8485. Residents are being asked “Shall this municipality authorize the state to permit the operation of agency liquor stores on days other than Sunday?”
• Wade voters will cast their votes at the Town Office on Victoria St. (the truck route in Washburn), from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., 455-5885; and
• Westfield Town Office will be the location for voting from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., 425-5951.
