Assault suspect nabbed

A local man has been charged with aggravated assault following nearly a year-long search for him after he allegedly attacked his girlfriend last December.

“I arrested Wallace Endy, 28, at his place of employment in Westfield on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, for his involvement in an incident that took place back in December 2013,” said Officer Ryan Eagles, of the Presque Isle Police Department.
Endy had eluded police after he reportedly attacked the victim, whose name is not being released by police.
“It was reported to the PIPD that Mr. Endy severely beat his girlfriend, whom we are not naming because she is the victim of domestic violence. Endy then poured diesel fuel all over her,” said Eagles.
Eagles said police were unable to locate Endy and a warrant was issued for aggravated assault, a Class B felony, and violating conditions of release, a Class E crime.
“Mr. Endy went into hiding. I located him recently in Westfield at his place of employment, where the arrest was made,” said Eagles.
“Bail for Endy, who at the time of the 2013 incident lived in Presque Isle, was set at $1,000 cash or $10,000 surety. He was given a court date of Dec. 19 in Caribou Superior Court. He was arrested, with conditions including: no contact with the victim, he can’t return to the residence and he must agree to the strict rules of pretrial conditions,” said Cpl. Wayne Selfridge, of the PIPD.
Endy currently remains at the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton, unable to make bail.
