Hollis Eugene Smith

    SMITH, Hollis Eugene, PRESQUE ISLE, October 15, 2014. Arrangements are under the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.

    PRESQUE ISLE – Hollis Eugene Smith, loving husband and father, passed away unexpectedly on October 15.
    Hollis was a lifelong and active member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church of Presque Isle. A potato farmer in Maple Grove for many years, Hollis loved his church, his family and the land that God created.
    He is survived by a brother, Richard Smith and his wife, Opal; two sisters, Barbara White and husband, Bernard, and Isabelle and the late Charles Haines; his four sons: Hollis “Mark” Smith and wife, Christine, Brian O. Smith and wife, Renee, Kevin J. Smith and Heidi Broad-Smith, and Sean Smith and wife, Rose; grandchildren: Katie Griffin and husband, Lee, Elizabeth Johndro and husband, Craig, Connor Smith, Stephen Smith and wife, Amanda, David and Andrew Smith, Daniel and Fieona Smith; and very special great-granddaughter, Tori Johndro. Also special to Hollis are Patricia Canavan and husband, David.
    Hollis was predeceased by his wife, Marie Agnes (Macleod) Smith; a brother, Robert Smith; and a sister, Helen Goslin.
    Services were held at the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Presque Isle on Monday, October 20, 2014, with a viewing at 9 a.m. and a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., Rev. Raymond Morency officiating. Interment was at St. Mary’s Cemetery, and a reception followed at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
