Guerrette named citizens of the month Mike and Cecilia Guerrette have been named December’s Citizens of the Month. Mike and Cecilia have been actively involved in numerous volunteer projects in the area in the past years. Just a few of their generous projects have been organizing all kinds of raffles for the Knights of Columbus.  They have given many hours to the Fire Department during events like the chicken BBQs. They are very involved in their church, using their talents for projects like CCD and CYM. The Guerrette’s will always be remembered for the time they spent on the KC rooftop fixing it.

Students sing carols — Students from all grades at Madawaska Elementary School sang Christmas carols outside St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church on Dec. 19, 2014, as part of a school visit to the Madawaska Food Pantry. Students donated food items and toured the facility in the former rectory. Each also wrote a wish for either the local or the global community and delivered it to the facility, according to MES Principal Ben Sirois. These will be added to gift baskets handed out by the food pantry.
