3-Day Outlook: Wednesday, Nov. 13 – Friday, Nov. 15 

High pressure will build across the Valley today into Thursday then retreat to the northeast Friday. Gusty north winds subside as the day progresses this Wednesday with mostly clear skies overspreading the SJV tonight and Thursday. Mostly clear skies Thursday night give way to increasing clouds Friday as an oceanic low tracks into Nova Scotia bringing gusty north winds and a chance of rain to the County. NWS Caribou office notes that “There is a chance for a period of light freezing rain late Thursday night and Friday morning, before the precipitation changes to all rain by Friday afternoon. At this time, it appears any ice accretion should range from a glaze to a few hundreths of an inch of ice.” Rain is expected to continue Friday night into Saturday.

Daily Summary 

Today: Sunny. Highs in the lower 30s. North winds 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.

Tonight: Clear, cold with lows around 12. North winds around 5 mph.

Thursday: Sunny. Highs in the upper 30s. North winds 5 to 10 mph.

Thursday Night: Clear. A slight chance of freezing rain after midnight. Lows around 20. North winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation 20 percent.

Friday: Mostly cloudy. A chance of rain with a slight chance of freezing rain in the morning, then rain in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 30s. North winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of precipitation 80 percent.

Friday Night: Rain. Lows in the lower 30s. Chance of rain 80 percent.


4- to 7-Day Outlook: Saturday, Nov. 16 – Tuesday, Nov. 19

A closed low near Nova Scotia brings rain over the course of the day Saturday before drifting to the northeast as the day progresses. Showers are possible Saturday night before winding down Sunday morning. Moisture aloft will keep mostly cloudy skies across the Valley Sunday, but dry conditions are expected. 

Mostly cloudy skies Sunday night with a slight chance of showers after midnight as a warm front approaches. Mostly cloudy skies with a chance of showers continues Monday as a cold front moves through later in the day with showers overnight into Tuesday. Mostly cloudy skies remain across the area Tuesday with a slight chance of showers during the day into the overnight period.
