Worth the 2,500-mile trip
To the editor:
We were in the Presque Isle/Fort Fairfield area a couple of weeks ago and I want to tell your community what a pleasant place you have. We visited last year to attend the County Bluegrass Festival and couldn’t resist returning this year.
Again, we found everyone we met and everyone we did business with to be pleasant and cooperative.
In addition to the restaurants and small businesses we dealt with we had need to use The Aroostook Medical Center. There, Dr. Harris, Victoria, Debbie and others were most attentive, efficient and reassuring. It was an impressive and very much appreciated visit to an emergency room.
Nancy and Stev Rogeski again were very hospitable at the Bluegrass Festival and they attended to every need we had. They do a special job at the Festival in Fort Fairfield. Attend it — it’s so much fun to hear the great American music — BLUEGRASS! The next festival is coming soon, August 28-31.
Don’t let me forget Jeff at the IGA in Fort Fairfield. He put together a giant fruit salad for us to take to a potluck. It all disappeared so you know it was good.
The teens who served us at the ice cream store are what our nation needs — great kids, hardworking and courteous, couldn’t be better.
So, as I end this letter, I want to convey how pleased we were with Presque Isle and Fort Fairfield and we look forward to next year’s 2,500-mile trip to see you all again.
