WALSH, Anna G. (McBurnie), 80, CLIFTON and PRESQUE ISLE, at Presque Isle, June 7, 2014. A celebration of her life will be held on July 26, 2014, at Bethany Baptist Church, with interment following at Evergreen Cemetery in Presque Isle.
PRESQUE ISLE – Anna G. Walsh (McBurnie), 80, went home to be with the Lord on June 7, 2014. Anna was born in Presque Isle on February 19, 1934, the daughter of Harris and Beatrice McBurnie.
Anna grew up in Presque Isle and attended schools there. She married Air Force Airman John H. Walsh and they eventually moved to Brooklyn, NY, where they raised their eight children. After 30 years of living in Brooklyn, they moved back to Presque Isle in 1992.
Anna was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. She served as president of the Ladies Missionary Guild. Anna had a love for the Lord and sharing that with others.
Anna was known for her wonderful baking and cooking. You would often find Anna in the kitchen whipping up a treat for someone or catering a church function.
Anna loved spending time with her large family, especially her grandchildren.
Anna was predeceased by her husband, John H. Walsh; her parents; and her brother, Gordon “Gary” McBurnie”.
Anna is survived by her children, John P. Walsh and Deb of Clifton, Joanne Records and Scott of Bar Harbor, Gail Wylder of Presque Isle, Jayne Ragab of Staten Island, NY, Gina Muller and Robert of Basking Ridge, NJ, Kerry Walsh and fiancé, Gary Smith of Houlton, Kathy Walsh of Staten Island, NY, and Erin Casey and Karl of Presque Isle. She is also survived by her 14 grandchildren, Jonell Walsh, Brianne Standridge and Joshua, Connor Records, Bonnie Ashby and Isaac, Amir Ragab and fiancé, Karina Mazariegos and son, Mike Jr., Brian Muller, Katlyn Muller, Kyle Muller, Katherine Muriel, Sean Muriel, Kelly Scotto and Matthew, Amber Addessi, Trevor Casey and Victoria Casey; four stepgrandchildren, Hope Sund-Gabric, Jeannie Sund, Brianna Sund, and Lily Sund; and five great-grandchildren, Faith Walsh, Makenna Walsh, Jason Scotto, Landen Gabric and Kiera Gabric. Anna is also survived by her sister, Lynette Coffin of South Portland; sister-in-law, Gwen McBurnie and husband, Bud Porter of Wade; her brother-in-law and wife, Stanley and Patricia Walsh of Wicklow, Ireland.
A celebration of Anna’s life will be held on July 26, 2014, 10 a.m., at Bethany Baptist Church, with the Rev. James Ackerson officiating, with interment following at Fairmount Cemetery in Presque Isle. Donations in her memory may be made to the church.
