CARIBOU, Maine — The Penobscot Valley Conference Large School Championships for track and field were held Saturday, hosted by Caribou High School.
The Hampden Academy girls and the Old Town boys were crowned meet champions.
Ellsworth’s Dan Curts and Brewer’s Synclaire Tasker were named “outstanding meet performers.”
The Presque Isle teams each scored 12 points in the meet.
Individuals placing for the Aroostook County schools were the following:
Girls
4×800-meter relay: Presque Isle (Emily Colligan, Alyssa Sweeney, Jessica Baldwin and Mandy Graham), fourth, 11:04.28; high jump: Jacqueline Lambert, Presque Isle, fifth, 4 feet, 4 inches; javelin: Regan Nelson, Presque Isle, third, 94 feet, 3 inches.
Boys
Long jump: Mitchell Ayotte, Presque Isle, 19 feet, 1 inch; triple jump: Ayotte, third, 38 feet, 8 inches; javelin: Khasen Lowe, Presque Isle, fifth, 128 feet, 2 inches.
Presque Isle competes in the Class B state meet in Brewer Saturday, while Fort Fairfield and Washburn will be in Westbrook for the ‘C’ event.
