    PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Councilors approved the appointments of four individuals to fill vacancies on various boards in the community during their February meeting, but more volunteers are needed to fill additional vacancies.    Councilors voted to:
• Appoint Eugene Cronin IV to the Rec & Parks Advisory Board, to fill the unexpired term of AJ Cloukey, which expires Dec. 31, 2017;
• Appoint Marty Parsons for a four-year term on the Downtown Revitalization Committee, which expires Dec. 31, 2017; and
• Appoint Kenneth Arndt and Larry Clark for one-year terms to the Presque Isle Development Fund Board of Trustees, with terms to expire Dec. 31.
Karen Duncan was appointed to fill one seat on the Zoning Board, while another seat and one alternate position remained vacant. Two seats remain open on the Planning Board. Two spots are open on the Airport Advisory Board — one seat for a general citizen, expiring at the end of this year, and one representing business and industry, with that term expiring in 2016.
With regard to the Airport Advisory Board positions, Council Chair Emily Smith indicated no one had applied for the openings.
“Anyone who’s interested, they’re looking for good people there,” said Smith.
Smith noted there was no interest in the Planning Board openings either.
“There’s been no interest in either of these seats — a two-year and a three-year opening. If you know someone (who might be interested), let them know we’re looking,” she said.
The city is also in need of individuals interested in working upcoming elections. These are paid positions.
