Snow Run slated for Saturday
The Aroostook Musterds Running Club announces the first of its seven County Challenge Racing Series races, the 30th annual Wild Katahdin Trust Snow Run, will take place on Saturday beginning at the Millar Arena in Houlton.
Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. The 5K walkers’ race begins at 10:45 a.m. and the 5K run begins at 11 a.m. The fee is $12 and the first 50 registrants will receive a long-sleeved T-shirt. Awards will be given to the first male and female in the several age divisions.
Refreshments and the traditional chicken stew will be available after the event, while a few door prizes will also be drawn.

Hudson is state finalist in USA Today “best coach” poll
Presque Isle girls’ varsity basketball coach Jeff Hudson is one of five coaches in the state vying for the title of “Best Basketball Coach 2014” in a USA Today online poll.
Voting begins at noon Feb. 17 and continues through Feb. 24.
USA Today High School Sports selected five active high school girls coaches in each state and Washington D.C. after more than a month of conversations with local media and other state and school officials with expertise. From there, fans are deciding which girls basketball coach will emerge from a list of 255.

C-Me-Ski set for Saturday
The 26th annual C-Me-Ski, sponsored by the Limestone Cross Country Ski Club and Friends of the National Wildlife Refuge, will be held Saturday at the National Wildlife Refuge in Limestone.
Registration begins at noon, with the youth race taking place at 1 p.m. and the adult race at 1:30 p.m. The cost is free for youths and $10 for adults. The course is between 1/2 to two kilometers in length for youth up to age 13, seven kilometers for ages 13-18 and 21 kilometers for adults.

Baseball trip
The 14th annual Fantasy Baseball Trip is slated for July 29-Aug. 2, departing from the Alfond Youth Center in Waterville.
Organized by Vaughn Clark, who has 13 years experience running these trips, the schedule includes two Phillies-Mets games at Citi Field in New York City, a tour of the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y. and two Yankees-Red Sox games at Fenway Park in Boston.
The cost is $860, which includes a $160 deposit. A monthly payment plan is available.

Baseball umpires’ clinic
The Northern Maine Board of Approved Baseball Umpires will hold its annual clinic for prospective umpires at 5:30 p.m. beginning Tuesday, Feb. 25. The clinic will run for seven weeks at Northern Maine Community College in Room 109 of Andrews Hall.
