Cub Scouts receive Arrow of Light

    Washburn Cub Scout Pack 162 held their Arrow of Light Ceremony on Jan. 31 at the Washburn District Elementary School.    Five Webelo Scouts received their Arrow of Light Award. They were: Shayne Scott, Beckam Vaughn, Ryan Cole, Patrick Tardie and Aaron Skinner.

     On Feb. 2, Boy Scout Troop 177 and Cub Scout Pack 162 attended the 2014 Scout Sunday Service at the Perham Baptist Church.
Scouts and leaders were welcomed to the service and provided a color guard to post the American, Troop and Cub Scout flags at the beginning of the Sunday Service. Tyler Jardine read a scripture during the service and all scouting participants were presented with a gift from the church.
Pastor Dave Goupille and Scout Tyler Jardine worked together in the weeks prior to the service to coordinate the troops’ participation. A special thank you to the congregation of the Perham Baptist Church for their support of the 2014 Scout Sunday Service.
Those attending were Troop Committee Chair Stacey Skinner, Assistant Scoutmaster Tim Roix, Scoutmaster Larry Harrison and Assistant Scoutmaster Ronald Rand. Scouts taking part included: Tyler Jardine, Taylor Skinner, Bryce Roix and Carvor Pendexter.

Caution on the trails

    There will be heavy equipment working on the removal of the Mill Pond Dam and the upper berm section beginning around Tuesday, Feb. 18. There may be dump trucks traveling the ITS 105 trail from the Mill Pond to just north of the Washburn Trailrunners’ clubhouse to off-load several loads of gravel. Snowmobilers, please use extreme caution when traveling through this section of the trails.

    Those celebrating a birthday between Feb. 12-18 include: Valerie Flood, Mitchell Wilcox, Candy Pangburn, Freeman Corey, Emily Driscoll, Kathy Corey, Eric Beckwith and Snuffy Pinette.
