Portage Lakers invited to luncheon

All Portage Lake citizens are invited to a luncheon at the town of Packington, Quebec Saturday Feb. 15. Those who would like to attend will meet at the Portage Town Office at 9 a.m. and will go on to meet other participants at Baker Lake and then go onto Packington.
This event is part of the World Acadian Congress tripling group where the communities of Portage Lake, Baker Lake and Packington share commonalities such as a lake, similar population number, economic structure, and work force.
The three towns have been meeting together as individuals and as groups for a year now to prepare for a culminating event together during the August Acadian celebrations.
For more information, please contact Linda Caron, of Portage Lake, at 435-6326.
