Carmer graduates
Vaughn Martin headed to California last weekend to attend the graduation of his daughter, Valerie Carmer. Valerie graduated from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco with a master’s of art degree in game design, with an emphasis in technical art. It was a quick trip so Valerie and her husband Ryan spent time with Vaughn on the BART subway as they traveled to hotels, restaurants and stores. The graduation ceremony was special because a couple dozen students out of the hundreds graduating were featured in a special video presentation, and Valerie was among those featured. Vaughn hated to return during the impending snow storm as well as returning to sub-zero temperatures, as it was in the 60s in California. Valerie has a job in a promising new company that is developing an educational game for children, teaching kids about finances but done in a fun game. Schools are already showing interest in the game. Congrats, Valerie!
