KIDNEY, Llewellyn., 80, MAINE & CONNECTICUT, at Presque Isle, ME, Dec. 6, 2013. Services will be held at the Castle Hill Advent Christian Church on Thursday, Dec. 12, at 2 p.m.
MAINE & CONNECTICUT – Llewellyn H. Kidney, Lew, age 80, died December 6, 2013, at Presque Isle Nursing Home. Lew was born and raised in Washburn, lived in CT and Eagle Lake. Lew had an accomplished work career. He started driving truck at 16 years old, a proud business owner as an arborist in CT and in ME and farmed potatoes, before making his way to Eagle Lake where he resided with his wife of 30 plus years, Arlene Sirois Kidney. He was known by many for his sense of humor and stories. In his later years, he was known as the “Apple Man” selling apples out of his Dodge pickup from Presque Isle to Madawaska.
Lew was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Francis Stoddard Kidney; his wife, Audrey Duchesneau Kidney; three sons, Shawn, Lew and Timothy Kidney; and a sister, Lynette Kidney Johnson.
He is survived by five children, Kevin Kidney of Webster, FL, April and her husband, Stephen Kenney of Mapleton, Kelly Granville and her fiancé, Mark Blackman of Springfield, MA, Lee and her husband, Mike Doody of Woodland, ME, and Julian and his wife, Karen of Fort Kent. ME. Lew had nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at the Castle Hill Advent Christian Church on Thursday, December 12. Friends are invited for calling hours at 1 p.m., service at 2 p.m. and a celebration lunch will follow. Please send donations to the Castle Hill Advent Church at 323 Turner Road, Castle Hill, ME 04757.
