PORTER, Leonard Otis (Bud), 80, PRESQUE ISLE, November 29, 2013. Interment will be held in the spring at Fairmount Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.
PRESQUE ISLE – Leonard Otis (Bud) Porter went to be with the Lord on November 29, 2013. He passed away at home surrounded by his family. He was born March 5, 1933, in Houlton, and attended Houlton High School.
He was an avid bowler and holds one of the highest strings ever recorded at Star City Bowling with a score of 211. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, traveling and spending time with his family. He was a retired civil servant. He also owned and operated his own janitorial service for many years.
He was a member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge of Presque Isle for 42 years and a past Exalted Ruler. He was a Mason, and a greeter with the Shriners.
He is survived by his daughters and their spouses: Beverly and Neal McCrum of Bangor, Diane and Stanley Winslow of Presque Isle, Rebecca and Alber Engstrom of Buxton, Janet and James Beicher of Warrenton, VA, and Sandra Post and her fiancée, Scott Saucier. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Shawn and Megan McCrum, Jamie Leao, Jocelyn and Jaclyn Winslow, Tanya Peiler, Stephanie Slater, Christina Beicher, Michelle Post, and Amanda Lane; 10 great-grandchildren: Ella and William McCrum, and a boy on the way, Brandon and Conner Leao, Timothy and Izzabella Peiler, Abigail and Keely Slater, and Kaelyn Post.
He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Pat Porter.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m., on Sunday, December 1, 2013, at State Street Baptist Church in Presque Isle. Interment will be held in the spring at Fairmount Cemetery.
