Delano named
deputy division director at NMDC
CARIBOU — A newly created position of Deputy Division Director at Northern Maine Development Commission (NMDC) has been filled by an in house applicant.
Dana Delano, in addition to his duties as Maine Manufacturing Extension Partnership Program Manager, will now work cooperatively between the Planning and Development and Economic and Workforce Development Divisions on projects as assigned by both division directors. He will also be working on the new Investing in Manufacturing Communities Partnership program.
“This position will help streamline the interaction between NMDC’s two largest divisions, Planning and Economic/Workforce Development,” said Ryan Pelletier, director of economic and workforce development. “The deputy division director will have a great deal of his time spent in grant management and project performance. Dana’s previous background with manufacturing and marketing was essential as this person will maintain strong connections with area manufacturers and promote and market NMDC’s economic and workforce development programs to area businesses. It is envisioned that the Deputy Director will serve as a marketing resource for the region’s business community.”
Delano, prior to joining NMDC, was employed as director of sales and marketing at Ward Cedar Log Homes in Houlton. He is a graduate of the University of Maine and lives in Houlton.
