WINDHAM and PERHAM -Betty L. Wright, 74, died Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at a health care facility in Scarborough. She was born in Washburn on April 21, 1933, the daughter of Earl and Abbie (Hanson) Carter.
She worked as a USDA government inspector at McCains Foods. Betty worked with the youth fellowship at the Dunntown Advent Christian Church, served as a deaconess and Sunday school teacher for many years. She was a member of the Women’s Home and Foreign Missions Society.
Betty is survived by her husband Ronald of Windham, a daughter Rhonda Schaefer and her husband George of Windham, a son Barry Wright and his wife Kimberley of Mapleton, three granddaughters Melissa Soucier and her husband Anthony of Presque Isle, Elizabeth and Emily Wright of Mapleton, two great- grandchildren Jacob and Cassidy Soucier, a sister Verdella Fox and her husband Kenneth of Washburn, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Alden and Clayton Carter, and an infant sister, Phyllis.
Relatives and friends called 1-2 PM Friday, September 7, 2007 at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. Funeral services were held at 2PM with the Reverends Kenneth Fox and George McLaughlin officiating. Interment at Fairview Cemetery, Perham. A reception was held at the Dunntown Advent Christian Church immediately following the burial.
