PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Shenna Bellows, a Democrat from Hancock County, will be visiting Presque Isle for a breakfast at the Whole Potato Cafe on Main Street on Oct. 24 as part of her official campaign kick-off tour. Bellows is the former executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Maine, a non-profit whose mission is defense of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The breakfast starts at 7:30 a.m. and is free and open to the public. Bellows will address the group promptly at 8 a.m.
“Shenna Bellows has a proven track record of standing up for freedom of speech, privacy, voting rights and more,” said Shelly Mountain, chair of the Aroostook County Democrats. “She has the courage to speak truth and has led the fight to restore our constitutional freedoms. We are proud to host her in Aroostook County as she kicks of her campaign for United States Senate.”
Bellows chaired the 2011 Protect Maine Votes campaign to keep same-day voter registration and was a leader in 2013 in passing groundbreaking cell phone privacy legislation in Augusta.
Bellows was recently married to Brandon Baldwin, a native of Skowhegan. They got engaged during a weekend trip to the Potato Blossom Festival. They currently reside in the town of Manchester in Kennebec County. For more information about Shenna Bellows or to RSVP to the breakfast, visit www.bellowsforsenate.com.
