Alton E. McQuade

     MCQUADE, Alton E., 80, MARS HILL, October 21, 2013. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m., Wed., Oct. 23, at the Old Fashion Revival Center, Blaine. Arrangements in care of Duncan Funeral Home, Mars Hill.

    MARS HILL – Alton E. McQuade, 80, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on October 21, 2013. He was born June 1, 1933, in Medford, Victoria County, NB, the son of Lewis and Daisy (Payne) McQuade.
    Alton founded McQuade Manufacturing, Star Construction, A.E. McQuade & Sons, Inc., and Clipper Snack Foods. Together with his wife, Ann, Alton also founded Mars Hill Country Club, where he spent many enjoyable hours working and playing countless rounds of golf with family and friends. Alton was a member of the Mars Hill Rotary and served on the Mars Hill Town Council from 2001-2007. In his earlier years, he enjoyed camping and fishing with his wife and four sons. Most recently, Papa looked forward to spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his dog, Sammy.
    Alton is survived by his four sons and their wives, A. Blake and Tina McQuade of Houlton, Dana and Alice McQuade, Brian and Allyson McQuade, and Ross and Anne McQuade, all of Mars Hill; grandchildren, Andrew, Tory, BJ, Stephen, Andrea, Travis, Alyssa, Ben, Shane, Nicole, Tiffany, Crystal and Matthew; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Anita Davis of Westfield and Frances Smith of Woodstock, NB; and a brother, Hubert McQuade of Florenceville, NB.
    He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Ann (Long) McQuade; his brothers, Vernon McQuade and Herbert McQuade.
    Friends may call from 12 noon, Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at the Old Fashion Revival Center, Blaine until the time of service where funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m., with Rev.
