Accident slows lunchtime traffic

PRESQUE ISLE — A lunchtime accident briefly slowed traffic on Main Street near Freshies on Thursday.

EMERGENCY PERSONNEL prepare to transport Brad Feuerhelm, of Presque Isle, who was injured when his vehicle was rear-ended on Main Street in Presque Isle on Thursday. The accident occurred at the intersection of Main and Davis streets shortly before noon.
The accident occurred when an SUV slowed to make a lefthand turn and was struck from behind.
“The accident was reported around 11:35 a.m. on Sept. 12. Brad Feuerhelm, 38, of Presque Isle, was stopped in southbound traffic on Main Street in his Chevy HHR waiting to turn left onto Davis Street. Taylor Thibodeau, 17, of Presque Isle, was southbound in a Mercury Cougar. Thibodeau was changing lanes and struck the rear of Feuerhelm’s vehicle,” said Dep. Chief Laurie Kelly, of the Presque Isle Police Department.
Kelly said Feuerhelm was transported to The Aroostook Medical Center by Crown Ambulance complaining of back pain. Thiobdeau was not injured.
Both vehicles sustained minimal damage. Mike Cowett’s Towing Service of Presque Isle was called to remove at least one vehicle.
