UMPI, Community Players

to host dinner theater in October

PRESQUE ISLE — The University of Maine at Presque Isle — together with the Presque Isle Community Players — proudly presents the 2013 dinner theater, “Country in the County,” Oct. 11-12 and 18-19 in the Campus Center.

The event serves as a fundraiser for the auditorium renovations at UMPI’s Wieden Hall. This special evening of live music features some of the area’s most talented singers and musicians performing many country favorites from Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline to Big and Rich and the Dixie Chicks.
Tamia Glidden serves as the production director, while Melbourne Smith is the musical director. Social starts at 6 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m., and performances start at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25; on Oct. 11, tickets are $50 for a special Opening Night Gala event that includes a reception at the President’s house at 5:30 p.m. and, immediately following the show, decadent desserts and a champagne toast with the cast (proper ID required).
Tickets are on sale at the Campus Store (credit cards accepted), Goin’ Postal and the Aroostook Centre Mall starting Monday, Sept. 16. For more information, call 768-9452.
