PRESQUE ISLE – Geneva E. Meyer, 86, died Friday afternoon, August 16, 2013, at her residence in Presque Isle. She was born in Ashland on June 12, 1927, the daughter of William and Effie (Pelletier) Pelletier.
She worked for J.J. Newsberry Co. for 42 years, most of those years were spent as manager of three stores, Presque Isle, Mars Hill and Caribou. She was a past member of the Presque Isle Chamber of Commerce.
Geneva is survived by a sister, Joanne Amsden of Baltimore, MD; a sister-in-law, Alma Pelletier of Caribou; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Joan Gagne of Presque Isle. She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, J. Richard “Dick” Meyer in 1996; two brothers, Dana and Gary Pelletier; five sisters, Shirley Beaulieu, Geraldine Pelletier, Jeanette St. Onge, Betty Vanderbor and Marilyn Yarmack.
Friends called 10 a.m., Tuesday, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, where funeral services were held at 11 a.m., with Rev. Emile Dube officiating. Interment was at Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle. Donations may be made in her memory to Central Aroostook Humane Society, 26 Cross Street, Presque Isle.
