ASHLAND – Robert Burns Collier, 68, died July 22, 2013, at VA Medical Center in Togus. He was born in Ashland, July 8, 1945, the son of J. Arthur and Bertha (Page) Collier.
He was a 1963 graduate of Ashland Community High School. He attended Maine Central Institute, the University of Maine at Orono and Northeastern University, studying business. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Bob was well-travelled, living in India for a period of time. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially the Collier Webster Brook Camp. Bob was thankful for the camaraderie he enjoyed with his fellow veterans and appreciated the care he received at the special care unit at VA Togus the past few years.
He is survived by his mother, Bertha Collier of Presque Isle; one sister, Patricia Craig of Ashland; one brother, James Collier of Ashland.
He was predeceased by his father, J. Arthur Collier; a brother, Joseph Collier; and infant sister, Judy Collier.
A funeral service was held on July 26, at Stimson-Ouellette Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St., Ashland, ME 04732, with Fr. Kevin Kinsey officiating. Committal services with military honors were at Ashland Municipal Cemetery.
