Rep. Saucier appointed to national committees
AUGUSTA — Speaker of the House Mark Eves has appointed Rep. Bob Saucier, D-Presque Isle, to the National Conference of State Legislatures’ (NCSL) Standing Committees on Energy, Transportation and Agriculture and the Law and Criminal Justice Committee.
Prior to his legislative service, he served in the military for more than two decades. Saucier serves on the Maine Legislature’s Veterans and Legal Affairs and the Agriculture, Conservation Committee and Forestry Committee.
“I’m looking forward to working on this committee and I am honored to have received this appointment,” said Saucier. “Working with legislators from around the country will allow me to bring useful insight to our Legislature.”
Both committees work to educate Congress and federal agencies about state concerns related to federal actions that impact the states.
“It’s important to know what’s going on around the country and even more important to exchange ideas,” said Saucier.
Saucier is serving his first term in the Legislature and represents most of Presque Isle.
