Mitchell Scholarship Exchange.  The award was presented at a ceremony and luncheon held on July 10 at the Central Maine Community College Campus in Auburn.

The purpose of the scholarship is to create opportunities for the exchange of college and university students between Ireland and the State of Maine. Maine Community College (MCCS) students attend the Cork Institute of Technology (CIT); University of Maine students attend University College Cork. Each scholarship recipient is named a George J. Mitchell Scholar.
This year, Maine Community College System Scholars are Kori Kinney of Presque Isle, a 2013 graduate in medical radiography of Eastern Maine Community College, and Beth Walker of Casco, a 2013 graduate in culinary arts of York County Community College. Both will spend the fall semester at Cork Institute of Technology in Cork, Ireland.
They will add to the 28 Maine Community College System students who have participated in the exchange since its inception in 1999.
Kinney, the daughter of Norman Kinney and Tracy Kinney, is looking forward to experiencing the cultural diversity and being a student ambassador for the United States and Maine during her duration in Cork.
