Michaud and Bonville gain national recognition

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Presque Isle Regional CTC team of Madison Michaud and Hannah Bonville was awarded a skill point certificate in the category of promotional bulletin board at the National SkillsUSA championships for skilled workforce during the recent conference held recently.
    The skill point certificate was awarded in 86 occupational and leadership areas to students who achieved a high score defined by the industry.
    “Over 6,000 students from every state in the nation came to compete in the SkillsUSA Championships,” said SkillsUSA Executive Director Tim Lawrence. “This is the SkillsUSA partnership at its best. Students, instructors and industries are working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce and every student excels.
    “These students prove that career and technical education expands opportunities,” Lawrence added.

Westfield native makes UNE Dean’s List

    BIDDEFORD — Deidre Dicker Braley has made the Dean’s List for the spring 2013 semester at the University of New England.
    The Dayton resident majors in English and elementary education and is the daughter of Roger and Anne Dicker of Westfield.
