Smith graduates from Colby College

    WATERVILLE — Area residents were among 502 seniors who graduated from Colby College May 26, receiving bachelor of arts degrees at the bicentennial-year commencement.
    Mimi E. Smith of Presque Isle, the daughter of Charles and Marguerite Smith, majored in theater and dance and is a graduate of Presque Isle High School. She received her diploma from Colby President William D. Adams.
    Pulitzer Prize-winning author and Colby alumnus Gregory White Smith was the commencement speaker.

Morrison makes Dean’s List at St. Michael’s College

    COLCHESTER, Vt. — Melissa S. Morrison, daughter of Dale and Michele Morrison of Presque Isle, was named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2013 semester at Saint Michael’s College.
    Morrison is a May graduate psychology major at the liberal arts and sciences, residential Catholic college located in Burlington, Vt., one of the top 10 college towns in America.
    Students who complete a minimum of 12 credits and achieve a grade point average of at least 3.4 at the end of a semester are recognized for their scholarship by inclusion on the Dean’s List.
    Morrison graduated from Presque Isle High School before coming to Saint Michael’s.

Scott earns degree from Boston College

    CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Amelia Scott of Presque Isle has graduated from Boston College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Philosophy.
    Commencement was held on May 20 in Alumni Stadium on the Boston College campus. There were some 4,400 undergraduate and graduate degree recipients in the Class of 2013.
