Start summer with a strawberry shortcake

PRESQUE ISLE — The first day of summer is just around the corner and what better way to kick of the season than with freshly-made strawberry shortcake?
The Central Aroostook Chamber of Commerce is once again hosting their flavor-filled fundraiser on Thursday, June 20, at the North Street Plaza parking lot.
“We’ll be in the same location this year, on North Street. Walk-ups are welcome that day from 9 a.m. until 4:30p.m.,” said CACC Executive Director Theresa Fowler.
Fowler said there’s an added perk for buying in larger quantities.
“For businesses that order 10 or more of these tasty treats, we’ll deliver for you,” she said. To schedule deliveries, orders needed to be placed by May 31.
There’s just one small change from past years, according to Fowler.
“This year, due to an increase of material costs, strawberry shortcakes will be $3.50 each. It’s unfortunate, but they’ll be worth it,” said Fowler.
