Issues on area ATV trails

Local ATV clubs are advising riders to use caution, since recent rains have caused washouts in some areas. Washburn ATV Club President Roger Hewitt advised on the club’s Facebook Monday to use “extreme caution while traveling our trails,” and noted a washout by the old McCain’s site.
Club members were reportedly making the rounds, looking for problems and making arrangements to fix problems as they’re found.
In Presque Isle, Star City ATV Club officials reported on their Facebook page that the trail crossing Paul Cyr’s land, off State Street Extension, has been closed indefinitely by the property owner due to logging in the area. Riders are asked to use alternate routes to reach their destinations.
SCATV officials also report washouts in the Presque Isle area, including between Presque Isle and Caribou, and urge caution when traveling.
