DUMOND, Marion Elizabeth, 89, MARS HILL, May 24, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Wed., May 29, at the Funeral Home. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan Funeral Home, Mars Hill.

    MARS HILL – Marion Elizabeth Dumond, 89, a loving mother and grandmother who cared deeply for her family, passed away Friday, May 24, 2013, at the Aroostook Health Center in Mars Hill. She was born in Robinson on August 22, 1923, the daughter of Bedford and Georgia (Dobson) Green.
    Marion worked as a cook at the Presque Isle Air Force Base in the 1940’s and then at the Mars Hill Nursing Home. She enjoyed cooking and knitting for her family and friends.
    She is survived by her son, Richard Callahan and his wife, Erika of Madison, AL; three daughters, Mary Tardy of Bridgeport, CT, Ginger Cropley and her husband, Milo of Mars Hill, and Geraldine Thibodeau of Westfield; brothers-in-law, Preston and Kenneth Dumond; a sister-in-law, Judy Holmes; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one-great-great-grandchild; and a very special friend and roommate, Priscilla Smith of Mars Hill.
    Marion was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Richard Dumond; and two sons, Robert and Gerald Dumond.
    The family wishes to thank the staff of the Aroostook Health Center for their loving care of Marion. Family and friends may call 1-3 p.m., Wed., May 29, 2013, at Duncan Funeral Home, 8 Main St., Mars Hill, where funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., with Pastor Lawrence Beals officiating.
