TOURNEY PREPARATION — Rick Duncan, left, chairman of the Aroostook Hospice Foundation Board, and Bob Graves, founder of the Logan P. Graves Foundation, meet to go over plans for the upcoming Aroostook House of Comfort Golf Classic, which will be held Saturday, June 15 at Presque Isle Country Club.

The Aroostook House of Comfort Foundation is a non-profit organization of passionate volunteers dedicated to bringing a freestanding hospice house to Aroostook County within the next few years.
The Logan P. Graves Foundation is supporting the cause as the annual Father’s Day weekend tournament it sponsored for years is making a return. The Logan P. Graves Foundation has given over $800,000 to various non-profit organizations since 1999, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Ronald McDonald House, Camp Sunshine and the Maine Children’s Cancer Program.
Teams of four can now register for the golf tournament. The entry fee of $75 per player includes breakfast pastries, coffee, soda and hot dogs on the course, awards and a Titleist golf ball. Only the first 36 teams to register will be eligible to compete. The minimum team handicap is 40, with only one player under a 7-handicap allowed per team.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top gross and net winners. There will also be awards for the longest drive and closest to pin competitions.
The tourney will have a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Registration and check-in is from 7:30-8:30 a.m. Carts can be reserved by calling Barry Madore at PICC at 764-0430.
The tournament committee is also seeking sponsors at different levels — gold ($2,500), silver ($1,500) and bronze ($250) and friends of the foundation ($100).
To obtain a registration form, or for information on sponsorship, contact Rick Duncan at 764-6068 or 768-0201.
