4-H Sheep & Fiber Festival set for May 11
Mark you calendar. Saturday, May 11, will be the first annual 4-H Sheep & Fiber Festival that will be held at the Tractor Supply Co. on the Houlton Road in Presque Isle. There will be plenty to see and experience during the day-long event, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Visitors will have an opportunity to meet a variety of fiber animals such as alpacas, Angora rabbits, Pygora goats and several different breeds of sheep. Throughout the day there will be shearing, spinning and felting demonstrations, along with a chance to try your hand at spinning with a drop-spindle. Several local 4-H clubs will be on hand to show their animals and to share their knowledge with all who are interested. There will also be several vendors exhibiting various fiber products.
The Easton Trotters 4-H Club will provide a hotdog barbecue fundraiser throughout the day as well. For more information or to request a disability accommodation, call the Aroostook 4-H office at 800-287-1469.
