PIMS JAZZ BAND ATTENDS STATE FESTIVAL
Twenty seven students from Presque Isle Middle School journeyed to Westbrook March 22 and 23 to participate in the State Jazz Festival.

The only jazz band from Aroostook County to earn a spot at the festival, the PIMS Jazz Band played four songs during the competition, featuring 14 soloists. While they did not place among their competitors, they were able to perform for a state-wide audience and hear their peer bands from around Maine. The band was supported in part by the PI Music Boosters, a group of parents and community members that raise money so students can be exposed to and participate in choral and instrumental music activities.
