Supper to benefit fire victims

MAPLETON — A fund-raising dinner will be held on Saturday, April 20, for a local family who lost their home to fire in February.

Shortly after midnight on Valentine’s Day, fire broke out at the home of Larry and Donna Easler on the Parsons Road in Mapleton. While the six people living in the home — the Easlers, two grandchildren and two grandparents — escaped unharmed, the family lost everything in the blaze.
Family and friends have been providing assistance since then and have put together a special night to provide additional aid. The family had no insurance and are in need of both household and personal items.
The event will be held at the Mapleton Lions Hall from 5-7 p.m. The spaghetti dinner will include green salad, rolls, brownie a la mode and refreshments, with the spaghetti sauce being made by Mapleton’s own Frank Richards of Richards Tree Farm.
The cost of the dinner is by donation.
