The Words of the Fire

Seventh Grade
As we enter, we sense something.
Something speaking in a voice not heard.
Hearing without noise, seeing the words,
the words of the fire.
When the fire speaks,
it threatens us with death.
Everyone stands with terrified eyes,
listening, to the words of the fire.
As the harsh, silent voice beats down,
we obey.
We live in fear of becoming,
words of the fire.
