ASHLAND NEWS

The Ashland District School will be hosting a defensive driving course Saturday, March 23, sponsored by the Maine Bureau of Highway Safety. “Maine Driving Dynamics” is a Maine-sponsored, 5-hour defensive driving course that offers all drivers the opportunity to improve their defensive driving abilities.
The course is open to all interested, and includes discussion of collision avoidance techniques, safety issues, driver habits and attitudes, and the basic elements that constantly challenge drivers on Maine’s highways. The course is taught by a certified Maine Driving Dynamics instructor in a format that engages students with lectures, videos and class discussion and participation.
Those completing the course will receive a three-point credit on their driving record and students age 55 and older can receive an insurance discount from their insurer. But best of all, students will be safer drivers! They will leave the class with a new and unique way of looking at the driving experience.
The course is offered to the public several times each month at various locations around the state. MDD is sponsored by the Maine Bureau of Highway Safety in partnership with local and regional adult education organizations.
The class will be taking place March 23 at the Ashland District School beginning at 8 a.m. The cost is $40 per student which includes a $5 registration fee and all course materials. Students over the age of 65 will be charged only $10.
