PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Twelve members of Probus of Aroostook and one guest, Valerie Lunn, met at Reed Commons at Northern Maine Community College February 17.
Craig Green and Hank King, representing the Presque Isle Historical Society, spoke of that organization’s goals and activities. Three events planned in March include VERA exhibit at UMPI, Teddy Roosevelt in Aroostook County collection at NMCC and Vera Estey House Museum 50th Anniversary “Champagne and Candlelight Tour.”
Molly the Trolley tours will begin in April and King spoke of renovations being done and plans for future activities at Estey House. Other projects include history tours for sixth graders, recording family histories, walking tour of Fairmount Cemetery and Halloween tour of the firehouse.
Following the presentation, Green and King spent time answering questions from the audience.
President Jane McEwen presided over a short business meeting. Secretary and treasurer reports were accepted. Pearl Carmichael gave a short reading and reported that a sympathy card was sent to the family of Audrey Thibodeau.
