Hilyard gains honor
LA GRANDE, OR — Anthony Hilyard of Presque Isle was among 549 students at Eastern Oregon University named to the dean’s list for the 2012 fall term. To qualify, students must achieve and maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale while completing a minimum of 12 hours of graded coursework for the duration of the term.
Shaw named to Dean’s List at Assumption College
WORCESTER, MA — Brennen Shaw of Presque Isle, Class of 2015, has been named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2012 semester at Assumption College. To make the Dean’s List, Assumption students must achieve a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Hamlin earns academic honors
BOSTON, MA — Northeastern University is pleased to recognize those students who distinguish themselves academically during the course of the school year. Presque Isle resident Martha Hamlin, a Northeastern University student majoring in Computer Science/Game Design, was recently named to the university’s Dean’s List for the fall semester, which ended in December 2012.
In addition to achieving distinction through the dean’s list, Hamlin is a member of the University Honors Program, which offers high caliber students the chance to further hone their studies and interests, live in special interest on-campus housing, and participate in one or two honors courses each term. Invitation into the honors program is highly
competitive and students must maintain a high GPA and strong commitment to campus leadership to remain a part. Currently, Hamlin is among some 1,400 students involved in Northeastern’s honors program.
UMF Dean’s List includes local residents
FARMINGTON — Zachary Fowler and Christina Hallowell, both of Presque Isle; Katelynn Orcutt and Kenneth Tarr, both of Ashland; and Maurice White of Wade, have all been named to the University of Maine at Farmington Dean’s List for the fall 2012 semester.
UMF maintains a Dean’s List each semester for those students completing a minimum of 12 credits in courses producing quality points. A student whose grade point average for the semester equals or exceeds 3.8 will be listed with high academic achievement. A student whose grade point average for the semester is less than 3.8 but equal to or greater than 3.5 will be listed with academic achievement.
Four named to honors list at NE School of Communications
BANGOR — The following local residents were named to the Honors List for the fall 2012 semester at the New England School of Communications:
Steven Carmichael of Mapleton and Ryan McCluskey and Dylan Michaud, both of Presque Isle, were both named to the high honors list.
Emerson Mendieta-Castro of Presque Isle was named to the honors list.
