BROWN, Richard P., 77, CAMBRIDGE & PRESQUE ISLE, December 5, 2012. There will be a memorial service at a later time. Arrangements are in the care of Ackley & Ross Funeral Home, Cambridge.
CAMBRIDGE – Richard P. Brown, 77, formerly of Buskirk, died Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at Centers for Nursing and Rehabilitation at Hoosick Falls after a long, courageous battle with cancer. His beloved wife, Bridgette Marie (Carrier) Brown, and other family members were by his side.
Born Thursday, March 21, 1935, in Presque Isle, ME, he was the son of Clarence and Jenny (Skinner) Brown.
“Brownie” as he was known, worked as a log truck driver for many years. Most recently he worked for Gundrum Lumber in Grafton, NY. He was an avid horseman from a young age and a member of the Cambridge Saddle Club for many years.
Along with his wife of 57 years, he is survived by three children, Stephen and wife, Jackie of Beaumont, CA, Catherine Brown of Cambridge, and Cynthia Brown and partner, Jody Scheig of Magnolia, TX; four grandchildren, Christina Detweiler, Barbara Brown, Aarron Locklin, and Benjamin Brown; a great-grandson, Stephen and another expected in the spring; sisters, Irene Lannigan and Virginia Brand; brothers, Louis, Clyde and Carl Brown; nieces, nephews and their families.
